FIELD OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Field Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our team! If you enjoy working with tools and equipment, troubleshooting problems, and supporting others, this is a critical, hands-on role where your mechanical skills and organizational precision directly ensure the safety and efficiency of our field crews.
You will be the primary link between our yard/shop and our job sites – managing equipment logistics, ensuring all gear is safe and functioning, and providing essential field support.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work closely with project manager and foreman to schedule, deliver, and organize all tools, equipment, and materials for projects.
- Retrieve and inspect equipment from job sites, handle repairs in-house or coordinate with outside vendors.
- Execute all equipment readiness functions, including preventative maintenance, in-house mechanical repairs (small engine, minor auto/truck/trailer), painting, and upkeep of all construction equipment/vehicles and tools.
- Maintain ladders and scaffolding to ensure safe working condition.
- Keep detailed logs of equipment assigned to employees.
- Manage snow removal at office and parking lots during winter.
- Follow and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain detailed inventory and tracking logs for all equipment, ensuring compliance with our maintenance calendar and safety standards.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 1–2 years of related experience, technical training, or equivalent education. (Background in construction, small engine repair, or related fields is a plus.)
- Welding experience strongly preferred and considered a bonus skill but not a dealbreaker.
- Strong mechanical and maintenance skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and follow safety policies, operating manuals/instructions.
- Ability to write clear reports and correspondence.
- Valid Chauffeur’s License (required).
- Basic Computer Skills: Email correspondence, online ordering, occasional Microsoft Office use, etc.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing to work outdoors and be exposed to various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 80lbs.
- MUST BE DRUG FREE – Company has a zero-tolerance drug policy (including THC).
